How does the free trial work — and when does it convert to a paid plan?
The 7-day trial unlocks every feature in the All-Access plan — no credit card required at sign-up, no auto-conversion at midnight on day seven. On day six, we email you a single button: "Continue with All-Access" or "Continue with a lighter plan." If you do nothing, the trial simply expires and your account stays free for read-only review of completed lessons. No charge appears without an explicit click from you.
What is the exact refund window if I cancel mid-month?
Cancel any monthly plan from your member dashboard — no phone call, no retention queue, no exit survey. The 60-day fluency guarantee supersedes any standard refund window: if day 60 arrives and you cannot hold a ten-minute conversation, our team refunds the full amount, even if you have used the platform daily. For standard cancellations outside the guarantee, monthly fees are pro-rated to the day, not forfeited.
Can I switch tiers mid-subscription, and what happens to my coaching credits?
Yes — upgrade or downgrade any time from the dashboard. Upgrades take effect immediately, and we charge only the pro-rated difference for the current billing cycle. Downgrades take effect at the next renewal so you keep paid-for time on your current tier. Unused 1-on-1 coaching credits roll forward for 90 days, regardless of tier changes. Lifetime plan holders can switch between annual and lifetime status only once.
What happens at JLPT registration time — and do you help with test-day logistics in Japan?
YazaGaku is JLPT-aligned, not officially accredited — we prepare you for the test, we do not issue the certificate. All-Access and Lifetime learners receive our JLPT Registration Concierge: we walk you through the July / December application windows, the MyJLPT ID setup, the photo specifications, and the test-center selection for the July and December sittings in Japan, the U.S., the U.K., and 73 other countries. Past-paper simulations are updated each December within 14 days of the official question release.
